Stella McCartney & hard work

27 Feb

You read this The New York Times Magazine piece and walk away thoroughly impressed by the dedication, passion and organization of Stella McCartney’s fashion empire, as well as her home life. That whole “I don’t know how she does it all” certainly comes to mind…but when you peer past the curtain of it all, you realize that prioritizing what matters is the key to making it work.

I would not be able to pull this look off but I’m sure some of you daring souls out there can, will and have.

Lazy Saturdays

Saturday sweater

Saturday sweater

This weekend started off right thanks to a few things — a morning swim, a longggggggggg walk around the city with my hubby and dog and a glorious sun to set the mood right.

A stop for almond biscotti and a chai latte was a treat.

Before too long I realized that I was pretending the sun meant that we were heading into spring (far from it) so I had to pile on with a comfy sweater, though, not this one. (Take one look at the price tag and you’ll know why…but I did wonder when I saw it if my Mom’s knitting skills are up to the task! hint, hint)

Things I can’t wear to work, but wish I could…

Love this outfit. Comfy low-heeled boots, chunky sweater, messy up-do, classic black blazer….easy to throw together. This is a perfect ensemble for walking around the city on a crisp Saturday or striding around a creative agency saying things like “we need more edge” and “the logo has to say it all.”

Ignore that last bit. I have no idea what I’m talking about…
